Rating 2003 Toyota Camry

I would highly recommend this sunroof repair kit for a proper repair that you know will last many years with proper maintenance. If your thinking Junkyard as a solution for parts,...its not worth the time, since most of the plastics on the guide brackets break over time and can slide crocked on the sunroof rail. On the 2003 Toyota Camry you will need to drill out the old rivets from the metal brackets and transfer the brackets onto the new guides with rivets included, just pay close attention on how its set up, clean the sunroof rail really good and lube all contact points. Finally, remember to clean the rail and lube with white lithium grease as preventive maintenance in order to avoid problems in the future...since you may already know how time consuming and a pain it is taking out the sunroof assembly...good luck!

Repair kit included all necessary parts. The instructions could be a little clearer, but anyone with reasonable DIY skills can get it done. Set aside plenty of time and take your time. I followed the recommendation in the instructions to clean the tracks with brake cleaner prior to reassembly and re-greased with provided lubricant. Works like a champ!

Rating Camry sunroof repair kit

Good parts, great service. I was hesitant to dig into this project, for fear of finding additional work and costs to repair my sunroof. And I was right...once I got the sunroof mechanism out of the car, I saw there was more screwed up than just the parts this kit replaces. Wound up having to replace the short section of plastic tubing b/w the track and front of the unit, and also straighten out kinked drive belts. But I had the time, enough aptitude, and some materials laying around to make the fixes without additional cost. The phone support was invaluable for the hows and whys of what needed to be done, and now it all works just fine.

Price and shipping can't be beat. Parts were high or better quality than the ones I replaced. A few things to think about/be aware of: 1. Photo on the site does not show two pop rivets that do come in the kit. For a 2003 Camry you WILL need them. And a pop riveter to boot. And a drill with 1/8" bit to remove old ones. 2. I totally blew out the whole system because it was frozen and broke almost every plastic part in the window. If this is you, pay attention to the order you remove items from the tracks so you can re-install new ones properly. Directions and schematics are a little lacking if you totally "blew up" the window mechanism like I did. A "this is what it should look like" photo would be helpful. 3. Parts are clearly marked LEFT or RIGHT with an L or R...don't panic if your toddler mixes them up. 4. NOT installing the window motor until AFTER you've reinstalled the frame/window/system is actually easier. This gives you an opportunity to ensure window/mechanism is in proper position before you apply power/motor. Also, motor has a hex alignment slot so you can actually move / adjust window with an Allen wrench before you snug everything up and apply power. 5. There's no instructions on the headliner removal (or the mechanism for that matter)...bone up on-line. Don't even try to get it out of the car on a 4-door sedan. Just recline your seats, slide it to the rear and rest it on the back deck and head rests. You'll have plenty of room to work. 6. Mechanism removal - a few pointers. You can remove all fasteners holding it up except the center most ones until your ready to lower it. It's pretty balanced and not too heavy. Remove the "L" brackets while it's up. You'll never get it out of the passenger cabin with them on. 7. This ain't a "little Johnny can change the oil" project that can be done in a couple of hours. Buy at least a 12 pack and plan for a whole day so you can take your time, enjoy, and not break anything plastic. IT WORKS PERFECTLY BY THE WAY...just like new!!!

I am so glad that I found the Sunroofdoctor. I needed to replace the broken plastic parts in my 2004 Camry and found them on a Camry owners website. I ordered the parts and took them to my local mechanic who installed them.
