These sunroofs have a plastic bracket connecting the lift arms to the drive cables. Usually, a non-working sunroof is due to a broken bracket. Many times only one side is broken. To troubleshoot the sunroof, remove the glass by removing 3 torx bolts on each side of the glass from the interior of the vehicle. After removing the glass, operate the sunroof. If you can move either side lift arm fully open & closed that side does not need to be replaced.
The frame around the lower portion of the glass is prone to rust. Inspect the frame by removing the glass. If replacing the weatherstrip, it is a good idea to sand & refinish the frame when replacing the seal to inhibit future rust issues.
